The company was previously set up in 1971 as a Partnership Company. Subsequently in 1994, Managing Director, Mr. Loh Soo Tiak converted it into a Sendirian Berhad under the name of Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd.

In 1994, Malaysia was thriving a robust economy. Against this favourable backdrop, Mr. Loh Soo Tiak, an enterprising young man with 21 years of experience in metal casting and forging foundries, foresees the future prospect of the telecommunication industry. He concentrated and ventured into the designing, production and supply of telecommunication manhole covers and its related products. It became a roaring success and today Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd is widely regarded as one of the pioneer and major producer and supplier of high Quality Sirim – Approved ductile iron and cast iron manhole cover and accessories for the telecommunication Inductry. Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd’s manhole covers are also widely utilized in sewage project, housing scheme, trading houses and hardware shops.

With visionary aspirations, Managing Director, Mr. Loh Soo Tiak took another bold step in setting up a 10 million manufacturing factory fully equipped with the latest moulding technology and methodology in the casting industry exclusively acquired from Japan and Taiwan. Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd Factory is thoroughly facilitated with modern automated and heavy duty gadgetries inclusive of several types of sand treatment machineries, sand moulding machineries, surface treatment machineries and several foreign assembled induction furnaces,

The sand treatment and moulding technology derives the concept of recyclable used sand treated to be moulded by heavy mechanical parts to produce flawless quality of sand moulds. The surface treatment technology consists of sand blasting machinery in which casted products are exposed to high speed blast of steel grains to create superb surface finishing products. Our imported induction furnace is capable of supplying continuous flow of molten ductile and cast iron. Furnaces are fully equipped with water cooling stations for safety measure purposes. The technology is Capable of systematically managing and coordination dual production lines inclusive of green sand moulding approach and alpha set / furan moulding approach. Currently, our Manufacturing facility is fabricating up to 300 tonnes of casting products every month and the figure is most definite to proliferate in future.

As quality control plays a prominent role in dominating today’s competitive market of the casting industry, Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd Factory is utilizing modern scientific approach by adopting the CE meter to precisely analyse and obtain the ideal constituent of our ductile and cast iron products.

Presently, Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd fabricates ductile and cast iron products under the stringent quality control of SIRIM to ensure products conform to specific manufacturing standards. Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd capitalize on its next bold initiative of striving towards ISO 9002, a symbol of manufacturing & quality excellence, besides fulfilling the essential satisfaction of customers.

At present, Lum Tseng Engineering Sdn Bhd Factory is located within the Bukit Minyak Industrial Park covering a land area of approximately 3.5 acres. The site comprises of a main directive office building and a fully facilitated manufacturing plant.
